Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve shipped some major performance improvements as part of a fresh new look that gives ZenHub a dedicated home within GitHub.
When you log in, you should find that your Board takes half the time to render. You’ll also see that ZenHub is now accessible from a new sidebar view, with our Boards and Reports navigation rolled into one.
As we thought about what’s next for ZenHub, we wanted to deliver critical performance enhancements and be sure that adding features didn’t get in the way of teams doing their best work. We often hear from users that they love how ZenHub manages to enhance GitHub without distracting from their UI. So to continue to deliver on our promise of bringing project management as close to the code as possible, it was really important to us to disrupt that native environment as little as possible even as we grow. This redesign makes that vision possible, and cleans up the GitHub interface by giving ZenHub its own home. It also makes everything much faster.
Going forward, you’ll use GitHub the same way you always have, but you’ll now navigate to all of your ZenHub features from a single sidebar. In this way, we’ve clarified what features live within ZenHub and GitHub, which we hope will make it easier to collaborate across your team.
Take it for a spin, and let us know what you think. And if you’d like to learn more about our process, take a look at our design-focused blog post here.
